4 detained following ‘military-style’ weapons theft in South Austin, police say
AUSTIN, Texas – The Austin Police Division SWAT workforce responded to an incident in South Austin on Friday, April 28.
Austin police stated round 3:12 p.m., officers headed to a SWAT call-out within the 600 block of S Lamar Boulevard.
Police say a suspect stole high-powered military-style weapons and ammunition from a storage unit at a storage facility. The weapons had been recovered by police at a homeless encampment close to the railroad tracks within the South Lamar/Barton Springs Highway space.
4 individuals had been detained, together with an individual of curiosity. The suspect is anticipated to face housebreaking prices.
Police are executing a search warrant in case they discover extra stolen weapons.
