No. 20 Augusta tops No. 19 North Georgia after one-of-a-kind game winner by Tyshaun Crawford

No. 20 Augusta earned a key 72-71 Peach Belt Convention victory over No. 19 North Georgia on the highway Wednesday. 

Ja’Queze Kirby’s tip dunk off a missed three pointer by Miguel Arnold gave the Jaguars a 71-70 lead with 40 seconds remaining. North Georgia’s Hunter Shedenhelm cut up a pair of free throws with 15 seconds left to tie the sport. Then with 2.5 seconds left Tyshaun Crawford stole an inbound move, obtained fouled and made the sport profitable free throw.

Each nineteen-year head coach Dip Metress and very long time volunteer assistant Lennie Carlson agreed that no one has ever seen a sport determined like that, with a participant stealing the inbound move from the passer underneath his personal bucket for the win.

Crawford led Augusta with 26 factors. Tyree Myers added 15.

Augusta, North Georgia and USC Aiken are at present locked in a three-way tie for first place forward of Saturday’s common season finale. Augusta will host Clayton State Saturday at 3:30 p.m. for homecoming. USC Aiken will host North Georgia.
