Lucy Laney Museum remembers local trumpeter of James Brown
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The Laney Black Historical past Museum is remembering a neighborhood trumpeter, identified for his 20 years enjoying alongside the godfather of soul.

Joseph Collier performed trumpet for James Brown for 20 years after becoming a member of in 1980.
Earlier than becoming a member of the godfather of soul’s band, he performed domestically in marching bands. One among his classmates says he remembers making an attempt out to play the trumpet with Collier once they have been in center faculty.
