Local basketball teams secure spots in the playoffs

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Excessive College Basketball groups work all the season to have the chance to make the playoffs.

On Tuesday night time, a number of of our native groups received their Area Titles and secured their spots within the postseason.

After a gradual begin, the North Augusta Boys Basketball crew took down their previous rival Midland Valley 63-34, to win the Class 4A Area 4 crown. With this win, the Yellow Jackets have locked up a primary seed within the playoffs, whereas Midland Valley will enter the season as a two-seed.

The Class 2A Area 3 title was up for grabs when the Silver Bluff Ladies Basketball crew went head-to-head with Strom Thurmond.

The Woman Bulldogs received the job executed 39-32, to win their second consecutive area title. Aaliyah Lawrence led the way in which for Silver Bluff with a 22-point double-double.

The Strom Thurmond Boys crew received their matchup towards Silver Bluff, 51-41. The Rebels have received their area title as properly, and have the possibility to complete the common season undefeated in area play towards Fox Creek on Thursday.
