Deputies catch suspect accused of Sunday night shooting in Augusta
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – An Augusta man is in custody after leading Richmond County deputies on a chase after a shooting, according to authorities.
Deputies say they responded to reports of a domestic call with shots fired around 8:32 p.m. on Sunday.
When deputies arrived to 2400 block of Damascus Road, authorities said they watched 31-year-old Quandre Davis shoot a gun. He ran away as deputies tried to approach him.
During the chase, deputies shot at Davis while he continued to run. Deputies said they arrested him a short time later and recovered the gun.
The Criminal Investigation Division will investigate the case because no injuries were reported. The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office will share more details when they become available.
