Augusta organization honors ‘STAR’ high school students, teachers
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The Kiwanis Membership of Augusta is maintaining a practice of honoring a few of Augusta’s finest college students.
It’s a part of the STAR scholar program, which acknowledges one senior with the best SAT rating at each Richmond County highschool.
These college students then choose a trainer who had a big effect on them. The chosen academics and college students have been invited to have lunch and listen to a speaker on the Kiwanis Membership assembly to have a good time the achievement.
One scholar says she’s honored to be celebrated and see her onerous work paying off.
“I haven’t actually had any day without work from college ever since I’ve gotten to highschool. I’ve been taking summer time programs and issues like that, so simply to be celebrated, only a easy factor it issues, only a easy congratulations is so massive to me,” stated Monae Burns, Richmond County Technical Profession Magnet College.
Burns has been taking twin enrollment lessons because the seventh grade and took SAT prep lessons as nicely.
