The annual MLK Parade, sponsored by the town of Augusta and the Augusta department of the NAACP, will start at 1 p.m. Saturday at Dyess Park Group Middle, 902 James Brown Blvd.
The parade will proceed south on James Brown Boulevard, then west onto Wrightsboro Street, north onto Augusta Avenue, east onto Laney Walker Boulevard and north onto eleventh Road to the previous Johnson Motor Co., 1122 Walton Means.
Church celebration
The thirty sixth Annual International Race Unity Inc. Memorial Celebration for Dr. King shall be at midday Monday at Abilene Baptist Church, 3917 Washington Street in Martinez. A pre-musical will start at 11 a.m., that includes the Augusta Chorale of Georgia and the Aiken Civic Orchestra.
The visitor speaker would be the Rev. Clarence Moore, senior pastor of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Augusta.

Basketball abilities camp
A basketball abilities camp placed on by the Will Avery Basketball Academy shall be Monday on the Augusta Dream Middle, 3364 Peach Orchard Street. Girls and boys in fourth by eighth grades who wish to take part within the camp should write and submit a one-page essay on Dr. King. Spots for the camp are restricted.
