2 local students to compete at state spelling bee this week

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) If somebody requested you to spell “anciency,” “geikia” or “ubiety,” would you know the way, or know what they meant? 

Two youngsters from the CSRA may.

They’ll be competing within the Georgia Affiliation of Educators’ state spelling bee later this week.

Among the many rivals can be 13-year-old Sai Lakkimsetti, an eighth-grader at Stallings Island Center Faculty within the Columbia County Faculty District; and 12-year-old Ayanna Khiani, a seventh-grader at Augusta Prep Day Faculty.

Celebrating its 62nd yr, the bee can be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Georgia State College’s Pupil Heart’s Senate Ballroom.

The coed who emerges from this competitors will signify the state within the Scripps Nationwide Spelling Bee from Could 28 by means of June 2 within the Washington, D.C., space.
