Statewide manhunt for escaped murder parolee housed in Atlanta
ATLANTA – A statewide manhunt is underway for a convicted assassin who escaped the Atlanta Transitional Facility.
An alert was posted for Charles Smith on Wednesday morning by the Georgia Division of Corrections. Officers say Smith walked away from the power and has not been seen since.
Corrections officers describe Smith a being 5-feet-10-inches tall, weighing about 200 kilos, with brown eyes, and black hair. He was final seen carrying black pants and a black shirt.
In keeping with on-line information, Smith was paroled to the power on March 16. He was convicted for as much as life in jail for a homicide dedicated on Nov. 14, 1992.
Corrections officers say Smith shouldn’t be approached.
