Atlanta swim coach accused of sexually assaulting underage swimmers in Colorado
ATLANTA – A former swim coach in Atlanta is in custody dealing with accusations he sexually assaulted underage swimmer whereas working in Colorado.
On July 14, Atlanta police arrested Jon Michael Beber and charged him with three counts of sexual assault on a toddler by one ready of belief, the Boulder County District Legal professional’s Workplace stated.
Investigators say the fees stem from a time interval from 1997 to 2002 when Beber labored as a swim coach in Boulder, Colorado for the membership Boulder Swimming.
In keeping with officers, Beber allegedly had inappropriate sexual contact with a number of swimmers from the staff – all of whom had been underage.
Authorities say Beber left his job with the staff when the allegations initially surfaced in 2002.
Beber went on to educate swim groups in Atlanta, Florida, and Albany, New York. The Boulder County DA says it has not recognized some other victims related to his time with these groups.
“We strongly encourage people with info to contact the District Legal professional’s Workplace,” Boulder County District Legal professional Michael Dougherty stated in a press release. “Our Intercourse Crimes Unit is dealing with this case and is accessible to talk with anybody with info.”
