Incumbents to remain seated in several Alabama sheriff races

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – The incumbent will stay in workplace in a number of Alabama sheriff’s races.

In Autauga County, incumbent Joe Sedinger received the race towards Mark Harrell and Ken Grey. No Democratic candidate is operating towards Sedinger.

In Covington County, two Republicans have been vying for the sheriff’s seat. In the end, incumbent Blake Turman will stay in workplace. Turman acquired 60 % of the votes.

Voters in Crenshaw County might want to put together for a runoff. Incumbent Terry Mears garnered 43 % of the votes. He’ll face Joshua Wasden, who secured 30 % of the votes.

In West Alabama, two Democratic candidates have been vying for the Dallas County sheriff place. Incumbent Mike Granthum received towards Donald Shepard. No Republican candidate ran Tuesday, so, Granthum will stay in his seat.

In Lowndes County, incumbent Christopher West was appointed sheriff by Gov. Kay Ivey after longtime sheriff Large John William’s homicide. West was challenged by Kelvin Mitchell however in the end received the election.

In Marengo County, Democratic incumbent Richard Bates defeated challenger Robert Alston Jr. by 5 votes.

In Wilcox County, incumbent Earnest Evans will not be operating. As a substitute, six democratic candidates are vying for the seat. As of 6 a.m. Larry Colston had garnered 50 % of the vote.
