Alabama woman dies after car goes airborne, crashes in Sumter County

A 57-year-old Tuscaloosa lady has died after a single-car crash early Saturday morning in Sumter County, Alabama state troopers stated.

Pearlie M. Ivy was fatally injured when the 2020 Chevrolet Malibu she was driving left the street, then struck an indication put up and a driveway headwall earlier than going airborne and hanging a number of bushes, in accordance with the Alabama Legislation Enforcement Company.

The crash occurred round 12:50 a.m. on Alabama 116 close to Spring Valley Church Highway, about 4 miles west of Gainesville. Ivy was pronounced lifeless on the scene, troopers stated.

An investigation by Alabama state troopers is ongoing.
