Sean Curran, the head of President-elect Trump’s personal Secret Service security detail, is expected to become the agency’s next director.
“President Trump will be naming Sean Curran, who heads his personal detail, to be Secret Service Director,” the president-elect’s son, Donald Trump Jr., announced on X Friday.

“Trump wanted someone he could trust, and they clearly have formed a bond after Pennsylvania,” said Bill Gage, a former Secret Service agent under presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.
“Even with all of the mistakes in Butler, the mistakes were from the advance team. The agents assigned to Trump and Curran performed exactly as trained.”

A second failed assassination attempt on Trump in September sounded even more alarms.
A prelicensed therapist who had been practicing in Bow, N.H., was arrested Monday based on an allegation that he sexually assaulted a patient during an in-office visit, police said.
Daniel Thibeault, who faces two counts of felonious sexual assault and one count of aggravated felonious sexual assault, is being held at the Merrimack County jail pending his arraignment, according to a statement from the Bow Police Department.

Thibeault had been a candidate for licensure who was subject to a supervisory agreement since May 2024, according to state records. His arrest comes after the presiding officer of the New Hampshire Board of Mental Health Practice suspended his privileges to practice in the state in late December, citing the alleged assault.
Bow police had notified the state’s Office of Professional Licensure and Certification in early December that Thibeault was accused of sexually assaulting the patient despite her “audible demands to stop,” according to an order signed by an administrative law judge.

The incident was reported to Bow police in August, prompting an investigation by Detective Sergeant Tyler Coady that led to a warrant being issued for Thibeault‘s arrest, police said.
Efforts to reach Thibeault for comment were unsuccessful Monday. It was not immediately clear whether he has an attorney.

Police shot and killed a knife-wielding suspect outside a home in Piscataway, where three people were later found dead, according to the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Mitchell Avenue and River Road. Police responded to the scene after receiving a 911 call from a man reporting that someone was inside the home with a knife. Upon arrival, officers saw the suspect on the porch holding a knife.
The man, whose identity has not been released, fled from the porch, leading to a foot chase that ended when the suspect charged at the officers, according to law enforcement sources. Police attempted to subdue the suspect with Tasers, but they were ineffective, sources told News 4.
After the suspect continued to advance toward the police, the responding officers fatally shot him in the street.

“They told him to stop several times; they gave him commands to stop,” said Jessica Conroy, a resident of the area.
Following the shooting, officers discovered three other deceased individuals inside the home. The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating their deaths.
“This is a really nice neighborhood,” Conroy told NBC New York. “I never saw anything bad at the other house.”
The identities of the civilians and officers involved have not yet been released.
