Rhode Island State Police announced on Friday that members of the State Police Financial Crimes Unit have arrested Attorney Christopher Bijesse for Unlawful Appropriation.
In October of 2022, the State Police received a complaint from the Supreme Court Office of Disciplinary Counsel regarding the alleged misappropriation of funds by Attorney Christopher Bijesse from the Estate of Stanley Kostka.
According to the State Police, Bijesse became the Executor for the Estate of Stanley Kostka of Coventry, RI, in July of 2018. The investigative review of the Stanley Kostka Estate account showed thirty-three transactions totaling $34,000, where funds were transferred or withdrawn.

All transfers made from the estate were made to either the Christopher M. Bijesse, DBA Law Office of Christopher Bijesse account or the Christopher M. Bijesse Atty at Law IOLTA account.
Records revealed that the funds transferred from the Kostka Estate were used to pay Bijesse’s business and personal expenses and were not used for the purposes of the estate.
Bijesee was charged with Unlawful Appropriation of over $1,000 in violation of Rhode Island General Law 11-41-11.1. He was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released with a future court date.
