Pittsburg approves large construction project
PITTSBURG, Kans. — The Metropolis of Pittsburg is transferring ahead with a big development undertaking.
Metropolis Commissioners, Tuesday night time, authorized a bid to widen East Quincy Avenue from Joplin to Rouse Avenue. A two-lane street will now change into three. Crews can even add curbs, gutters, enhance storm drainage and add sidewalks on either side.
“Quincy road is a reasonably busy road for us. Beforehand, we did a piece of that road from Broadway as much as Joplin Avenue. Now we’ll full that part as much as Rouse. Pittsburg State has plenty of school college students are available in that path. And it’s simply one other arterial by means of city,” stated Matt Bacon, Director of Public Works and Utilities.
KDOT pays 3.5 million of the $5.3 million undertaking.
Development will start this summer time and is predicted to be completed by subsequent summer time.
