Oregon State tight end Jake Overman announced Tuesday that he’s transferring to Pittsburgh.

Overman spent four years at OSU, putting himself in the NCAA transfer portal in late September after four games in order to use the 2023 season as a redshirt year. Overman has two years of eligibility remaining, counting the 2020 pandemic year.

Overman is the second Oregon State tight end to transfer from the 2023 roster. Jack Velling, whose eight touchdown receptions this season is a school record for a tight end, transferred to Michigan State.

The 6-foot-4, 245-pound Overman participated in every game during his Oregon State career. He played seven games during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, then 13 each in 2021 and 2022, plus the first four games of this season.

During Overman’s 37-game career, he carved out a role as dominant blocker, and caught nine passes for 77 yards.
