David Baird Brinkmeyer Obituary (2022)
David Baird Brinkmeyer, 89, of Grove, Oklahoma, handed away on Might 07, 2022, at Ascension By way of Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Baird was born on December 13, 1932, in Chanute, Kansas, to Cecil and Mildred Brinkmeyer. On the age of two months, he and his dad and mom moved to Humboldt, KS the place he continued to make his house till 1986. He graduated from Humboldt Excessive College in 1950 after which attended Chanute Junior School. In 1951, Baird married his highschool sweetheart, JoAnn Harris, one month after she graduated from Chanute Excessive College. They have been engaged on Valentine’s Day and married on Father’s Day!
In 1953 Baird was drafted into the Military and spent most of his service profession in Korea. After his discharge from the army in 1955 he returned to Humboldt and to the Self Service Grocery Retailer the place he had labored along with his dad and mom whereas rising up.
He and his spouse, JoAnn raised their household, constructed a house and owned Baird’s Self Service Grocery Retailer for 31 years in Humboldt till their retirement in 1986. Baird and JoAnn then moved to their house away from house at Grand Lake, within the Grove, Oklahoma space. Baird went again into the grocery enterprise and labored at Farriers for a number of years. He later obtained his Actual Property license and labored for Higher Properties and Backyard/Chuck Perry in Grove.
Within the fall of 2011 JoAnn handed from this life. Baird turned a volunteer at Grove’s Integris Hospital to fill his time. The friendships he made on the hospital have been a real blessing. The household is particularly grateful to Judy Bradley, not just for her 9 years of companionship to Baird but in addition her presence at many boisterous household holidays.
Baird is survived by his 4 youngsters and their households: Barbara and Lon Smelser, Debary, FL., Brenda and Willard Shaw, Oneida, IL., David and Michelle Brinkmeyer, Holland, MI., Beth and Steven Neville, Pittsburg, KS., six grandchildren – Lana, Jessica, Alex, Alyssa, Stephanie and Sydney and two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Kayden.
Baird selected to be cremated and might be buried at a later date with a household graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute, Kansas.
