Camel kills 2 men, attacks police car after escaping enclosure on Tennessee farm

OBION, Tenn. — Two individuals had been killed Thursday afternoon after a camel escaped its enclosure on a Tennessee farm and attacked.

Officers mentioned police responded to a name a couple of unfastened camel that was attacking individuals at Shirley Farms in Obion, a rural city within the northwestern nook of the state.

Responding officers started rendering help to 2 unconscious males on the farm when the camel “attacked” a police automobile, in response to an Obion County Sheriff’s Workplace assertion.

The animal “then [moved] in the direction of deputies who had been trying to maneuver a sufferer to EMS” and “it was presently officers needed to put the camel down for the protection of everybody on scene.”

The victims, recognized as 42-year-old Bobby Matheny and 67-year-old Tommy Gunn, had been pronounced useless on the scene.

It’s unclear how the camel managed to flee its enclosure, what provoked the assaults and what sort of accidents the boys sustained.
