Police Can Now Confiscate Illegal ATVs, Dirt Bikes On Pennsylvania Roads

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Police can now confiscate ATVs and grime bikes operated illegally on public roads in Pennsylvania. On Wednesday, Gov. Tom Wolf signed a invoice amending the present regulation.

This has been a rising challenge in Philadelphia.

“This invoice’s swift passage and enactment into regulation acknowledges the rising hazard unlawful grime bike and ATV utilization is presenting on our roadways,” state Sen. Pat Browne, who authored the invoice, stated. “We now have seen numerous incidences of the property being destroyed, accidents to pedestrians and the tragic lack of lifetime of harmless bystanders as a consequence of these reckless actions. I wish to thank my colleagues within the Normal Meeting and the Governor for his or her assist to offer regulation enforcement the instruments essential to hold these automobiles off the streets.”

The invoice additionally says ATVs and grime bikes can’t be operated on sidewalks, in bike lanes, on shoulders, or on berms.
