SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Regulation enforcement from throughout western Massachusetts gathered Wednesday to mark the beginning of Nationwide Police week.

A ceremony was held Wednesday on the police memorial website on the Western Massachusetts Police Academy on the campus of STCC. Women and men in blue paid respects to people who have died within the line of obligation.

Springfield Police Superintendent Cheryl Clapprood spoke of three fellow officers that made the final word sacrifice throughout her tenure on the power, Officers Alain Beauregard, Michael Schiavana and Kevin Ambrose.
