‘No Kings’ protests draw thousands across Connecticut

Thousands of people gather for the National Day of Action ‘No Kings’ protest Saturday morning in Stamford.

The event kicked-off at the Judicial District Court on Hoyt Street.

“President Trump’s affront to our courts, deportation of Americans, disappearing of people off our streets, attacks on our civil rights, and slashing of critical services,” says Susan Vogel. “The corruption has gone too far. No thrones, No crowns. No kings.”

Officials say the nationwide non-violent rallies go against President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday, following the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army military parade in Washington D.C on June 14.

State and local politicians are also taking part in the protests.
