How Much Did You Get? CT Town-By-Town Snow Totals
CONNECTICUT — The meteorologists were pretty much on the money in their predictions for Tuesday’s Connecticut snowfall.
According to results published by the National Weather Service, northern towns like Plainfield and Killingly bore the brunt of Mother Nature’s capriciousness, racking up totals in the 4-inch neighborhood. Central and coastal burgs generally took in upwards to half of that.
Ryan Hanrahan, chief meteorologist at NBC Connecticut, pointed to warm air at cloud level over southern Connecticut turning the snow to freezing rain for the disparity. The whole state had a pretty much miserable morning commute, but was spared drama for the journey home: the skies had all dried up by mid-afternoon.
The state is in the path of another storm, set to hit Friday. On X, Hanrahan posted that “the dendritic growth zone is nearly 10,000 feet deep which would maximize snowflake growth and could give us a decent fluff factor,” but otherwise “doesn’t look like a significant system.”
Below are the latest unofficial snowfall totals as provided by the National Weather Service:
