2 CT residents killed in wrong-way crash in Middlebury Sunday
Two people were killed in a wrong-way crash at about 3 a.m. Sunday in Middlebury, police said.
A 22-year-old from Waterbury was driving a Toyota Prius on Interstate 84 East just west of Exit 17 when she was struck head on by a Mitsubishi Eclipse that was driving on the wrong side of the highway, according to Connecticut State Police Troop A.
Mathew Marquis, 45, of Woodbury, was driving west in the eastbound lanes of I-84 when his vehicle struck the Prius, driven by Leticia Dourado, police said.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Their families have been notified, police said.
