Former President Trump said he hasn’t given much thought to who he would choose as his running mate in 2024 if he secures the GOP nomination, but likes “the concept” of it being a woman.

“I like the concept, but we’re going to pick the best person,” Trump told Meet the Press moderator Kirsten Welker in an interview set to air on Sunday. “But I do like the concept, yes.”

The question of Trump would choose as his running mate has drummed up many rumors.

One of which includes South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, who has said she would be his Vice President “in a heartbeat” and Trump has her “full and complete” endorsement.

Trump told Welker that Noem would be “one of the people I’d consider,” because she gave him a “full-throated endorsement, a beautiful endorsement,” but that there are a lot of people on the list of potential picks.

Other women have been floated also, including Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and former Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake.

In an interview with Newsmax, Noem said “Trump needs a strong partner if he’s going to take back the White House.”

“He’s going to need somebody who knows what it’s like to run a business, to be an employee, earn a paycheck, but also having a wife, mom, and grandma isn’t bad either,” she said.

Trump, the current GOP frontrunner, said he is just focused on winning at this point.

The former president is also facing four criminal indictments, which has unknown effects on the future of his campaign or potential presidency.
