South Dakota planting circumstances differ
The planting tempo has been sluggish for some farmers in central and northern South Dakota.
Reno Brueggeman of Miller tells Brownfield, “My space right here we’ve caught nearly 10 inches of moisture within the final 30 days.”
However, he says progress has been higher in some areas of the state, relying on circumstances. “You get from about our space north and there are some those that haven’t turned a wheel but,” Brueggeman mentioned. “There’s a deep concern about late planted corn getting in up in that northern a part of the state.”
Brueggeman says only a few acres of soybeans have been planted on his farm as a result of corn stalks are holding plenty of moisture.
