UTV driver dies after getting struck by pickup in western North Dakota
MCKENZIE COUNTY, N.D. — A North Dakota man is dead following a crash between a pickup and a UTV in McKenzie County southwest of Watford City on Wednesday.
A 39-year-old man from Arnegard, North Dakota, had been traveling south on 133rd Avenue Northeast in his Honda Pioneer UTV, according to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The driver failed to yield at the intersection of County Road 30, according to the patrol, and was struck by a Ford pickup truck. The crash occurred just after 8 a.m.
The UTV driver was thrown from his vehicle and pronounced dead on scene, the patrol said. He was not using restraints.
The 29-year-old Ford pickup driver from Sidney, Montana, had been driving east on County Road 30 when he T-boned the UTV. The man was wearing a seat belt and was uninjured in the crash, the patrol said.
The crash remains under investigation.
