New GF bar and deer hunt

The Grand Forks council will consider a liquor license for a new north side bar when they meet as a Committee of the Whole Monday night.  RG Investments is looking to locate in the old La Cantina site at 1730 13th Avenue North.  According to a staff report the business is seeking a beer/wine license and will be known as Cookie’s Lounge.  Preliminary plans call for a separate entrance to allow for a bakery to open next door as well.

The East Grand Forks council on Tuesday will take another look at establishing a special bow hunt to help reduce the number of deer in the Greenway. Over the years the city has received numerous complaints from residents about the animals eating shrubs and gardens and causing accidents when they run into the road. If approved the archery hunt would be held November 15-24.
