North Dakota trooper’s squad car hit by alleged drunk driver

MORTON COUNTY, N.D. — A North Dakota trooper’s squad automobile was hit by an alleged drunk driver early Sunday morning, April 24.

The Freeway Patrol stated the squad automobile had its emergency lights activated and was dealing with eastbound within the westbound lane whereas the trooper was manning street closure gates on Interstate 94 at milepost 147 at 1:13 a.m. He noticed one other car approaching at a excessive velocity and moved his squad automobile to the correct sufficient to keep away from a head-on collision, and his automobile was sideswiped as an alternative.

In response to the patrol, the motive force of the opposite car then drove via the street closure gates. They had been on suspicion of DUI by the Morton County Sheriff’s Division.

No person was injured, and the crash stays below investigation.
