Road 702 Fire in Kansas and Nebraska 74% contained
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Highway 702 Fireplace continues to burn in components of southern Nebraska after being contained in Kansas.
The fireplace began on Friday, April 22 and has burned 41,448 whole acres in each Kansas and Nebraska. The fireplace has been 74% contained.
On Wednesday, firefighters will give attention to the northern part of the uncontained fireplace edge that’s south of U.S. Freeway 6 and west of Cambridge, Nebraska, alongside the Republican River. They’ll proceed to work on the finger of fireside, south of Wilsonville, Nebraska, which nonetheless accommodates a number of scorching spots.
Heavy tools can be used to take away bushes that pose a hazard. Crews will proceed to determine containment traces and funky down scorching spots throughout the timbered attracts.
Nationwide Guard helicopters are helping firefighters with bucket drops.
Heat temperatures and low humidity will proceed within the space.
