Nebraska man gets federal prison for meth charge
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A central Nebraska man was sent to federal prison on Wednesday after being caught with meth twice in one month, the U.S. Attorney’s Office says.
U.S. District Judge Brian C. Buescher sentenced Jake Spiegel, 42, of Albion to 8¾ years in prison for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
Spiegel was arrested on May 28, 2022, after being found with more than 50 grams of meth, authorities said.
He bailed out of jail, and he was arrested again a couple weeks later in Merrick County.
Once again, he was caught with more than 50 grams of meth. The Nebraska State Patrol said it also found cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms and several pills.

Authorities said the woman, Cheryl Gonzalez, was delivering the meth to Spiegel.
Her trial date has not yet been set.
After prison, Spiegel will spend three years on supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
