LINCOLN — Two candidates have submitted petition signatures to run for the Millard-area legislative seat held by State Sen. Wealthy Pahls till his demise in late April.
They embody Kathleen Kauth, a businesswoman who was appointed by Gov. Pete Ricketts as Pahls’ substitute, and Tim Royers, a trainer who ran for the seat in 2020.
Underneath state legislation, Kauth’s appointment is sweet by Jan. 3. She should win election in November to fill out the final two years of Pahls’ time period.
