Sedalia woman seriously injured in rollover crash on US-65

A Sedalia woman suffered serious injuries after a crash on US-65 in Saline County Saturday morning.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, at 8:53 am, Magdalena Peraza, 24, was driving a 2009 Mitsubishi northbound on US-65, south of Jasmine Avenue.
She traveled off the left side of the road, then returned to the road before going off the right side of the road, struck an embankment, and began overturning before coming to a rest in the roadway.
Peraza was taken to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence with serious injuries.
The report said she was wearing a safety device.

Minor earthquake rattles Missouri Bootheel

NEW MADRID COUNTY, Ark. (KAIT) – Monday morning in the Missouri Bootheel began with a minor earthquake.
The U.S. Geological Survey registered the quake at 2:58 a.m. Oct. 20. It had a preliminary magnitude of 2.3.
The tremor was located less than a mile west of Risco and about 25 miles north-northeast of Kennett. It had a depth of approximately 3.7 miles.
As of 8 a.m. Monday, no one had reported feeling it to the USGS.
