MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District and Geese Limitless are launching a brand new Reforestation and Wetland Restoration program.

“Altering the way forward for our water, habitat and local weather is an enormous mission, and it will take greater than 5 shovels to perform it.”

Officers say 6,000,000 timber might be planted and 4,000 acres of wetland within the Milwaukee space might be restored over a 10-year span.

Tuesday, the primary tree was planted on the Mequon Nature Protect.

“This mission is each an environmental and financial necessity for Wisconsin,” stated Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisconsin).
