Michigan remains at No. 3 in the College Football Playoff rankings and Big Ten archrival Ohio State is No. 2 as the two teams continue preparations for their showdown at Michigan Stadium on Saturday.

Georgia is No. 1 and Washington is the new No. 4, bumping Florida State, in the most recent CFP poll released Tuesday night.

The Wolverines (11-0) have not moved in the CFP rankings since their first release on Oct. 31, but after a 31-24 win at Maryland last Saturday, they did drop one spot in the AP poll released Monday after occupying the No. 2 ranking since the preseason.

Going into the annual rivalry game on Saturday, Ohio State also is 11-0 and the winner will represent the East Division against West Division champion Iowa in the Big Ten championship on Dec. 2. This will be the 119th meeting between Michigan and Ohio State and the fourth time both are ranked among the top three — the other games were in 2006, 2016 and 2022. The Wolverines have won the last two games against the Buckeyes, which had won eight straight before the 2021 game.
