KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) – A former Kansas undersheriff has been discovered not responsible within the dying of a person he shot with a faulty beanbag spherical.

Virgil Brewer was charged with reckless involuntary manslaughter within the October 2017 dying of Steven Myers in Solar Metropolis, 300 miles from Kansas Metropolis, Kansas.

A Wyandotte County jury deliberated for 4 hours after a weeklong trial earlier than returning the decision Wednesday.

Investigators say Brewer shot Myers with a faulty beanbag spherical from his private shotgun. Brewer and two different officers have been responding to a name about an armed man on a road after an altercation at a bar. Myers was not armed when he was shot.
