Rising 2024 Arizona EDGE crystal balled to Iowa Hawkeyes

Only fools wait around, and Iowa football ain’t fooling around here.

Things are moving at a breakneck speed with Iowa and 2024 edge prospect Devan Kennedy. They offered the rapidly rising pass rusher on Thursday, locking Kennedy in for a big official visit this weekend.

Kennedy has been turning heads this offseason after adding 50 pounds since the beginning of last football season, which was also Kennedy’s first fall playing football.

Iowa became the latest Big Ten program to issue an offer to the Brophy College Preparatory product, following offers from Illinois and Penn State this month. Of note, Devan Kennedy’s father, Jimmy Kennedy, was a first-round pick out of Penn State.

Per 247Sports, Kennedy also has offers from Oregon State, Bowling Green, Fordham, Idaho, Nevada, and UTEP. He is also drawing interest from Connecticut, Kansas State and New Mexico State.

Now, Iowa has picked up a 247Sports crystal ball prediction for Kennedy from Blair Angulo. Angulo is the site’s Mountain Region Recruiting Analyst and is a perfect 20-for-20 on his 2024 picks so far.

If Iowa were to gain Kennedy’s signature, he has a classic Iowa success story written all over him. Possibly undervalued as a three star, especially if the added weight gives him a big boost next year. This feels like yet another one of those three stars that Iowa turns into an NFL player. Not to put too much pressure on the kid—he already has enough of that with his NFL pedigree—but he’s extremely talented and this is Iowa’s speciality.
