Indianapolis man sentenced to 16 years for 2021 motel drug bust

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An Indianapolis man was sentenced to a decade and a half in federal jail for distributing medicine and possessing a number of firearms, based on the U.S. Lawyer’s Workplace in Indianapolis.

On Might 11, 2021 , Eugene Theard, 45, turned a goal of an investigation after he bought 221 grams of methamphetamine to an individual for $2,300.

On June 3, 2021, Theard made a deal to promote 111 grams of methamphetamine for $1,400. Theard was on parole for home battery and failure to return to lawful detention throughout the time of the transaction. Following the drug deal, parole brokers carried out a compliance go to at Theard’s motel.

The parole brokers discovered 382 grams of methamphetamine and 5 firearms. Theard advised police he meant to promote the medicine and possessed the weapons to guard his medicine and income.

I commend the excellent work of the DEA, IMPD, ATF, and IDOC to take lethal medicine, lethal weapons, and one other harmful trafficker off our streets.”
