A child died after being found unresponsive in a pond on the west side of Indianapolis on Monday evening.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a report of a missing child in the 7200 block of Causeway Drive. While searching the area, officers located the missing child in a nearby pond.
The boy was unresponsive and officers began conducting CPR after he was pulled from the water.
Emergency medical personnel took the boy to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The age of the child was not immediately released. No details about the boy’s disappearance, how long he was missing or if he lived at apartments in the area were provided by authorities. No silver or amber alerts were issued about the child.
