Behavioral therapist discusses power of fame, fortune, stardom on kids
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Again within the days of William Shakespeare, stage actors had been thought-about “vagabonds” and the bottom class of society; no one wished something to do with them.
4 centuries later, TV, movie and publicity campaigns have advanced them into society’s elite, the folks everybody aspires to be, particularly your youngsters.
Whether or not it’s the singer Beyoncé, actor George Clooney and even the Kardashians, the sheer energy of stardom, the celebrity and fortune, can blind youngsters into believing that’s what’s necessary, that it’s what they need to try for.
Enter Betsy Holmberg. She’s earned a doctorate at Duke, taught at Harvard, and is a cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapist. She visited “All Indiana” on Thursday to speak in regards to the phenomena.
