3 found dead in west Indianapolis home after hours-long standoff

INDIANAPOLIS — An almost 5-hour standoff with a person who barricaded himself in a west Indianapolis house on Sunday ended with police and members of the SWAT group coming into the house and discovering two males and a girl lifeless. 

IMPD officers have been known as to a disturbance at round 2:20 p.m. within the 1700 block of Countryside Drive, close to the intersection of West Morris Road and South Raceway Street.

After they arrived, officers discovered a person with a gun. IMPD stated the person fired a number of photographs after which retreated again into the home, the place he remained till officers entered the house at round 7 p.m. Police stated it is unknown what number of photographs the person fired or who he was taking pictures at. 

Police informed 13News that after the person retreated into the home, they did not hear from him once more. 

When police entered the house, they discovered two males and a girl lifeless. Police will not be releasing their reason behind dying pending an post-mortem.

IMPD stated no police have been injured throughout this incident.
