Indiana officer killed during traffic stop; suspect arrested
ELWOOD, Ind. (AP) — An Indiana police officer was fatally shot throughout a visitors cease early Sunday.
The officer labored for the Elwood police division, 50 miles northeast of Indianapolis. Police mentioned the officer stopped the motive force of a Buick LaCrosse simply after 2 a.m.
State police say a driver obtained out of his automobile and shot the officer. The suspect was captured roughly half-hour later.
Madison County Sheriff Scott Mellinger says he’s gone from “being prayerful to being offended.”
The prosecutor’s workplace says the suspect has a felony report, which features a conviction in 2006 for firing a gun at Indianapolis officers. No names had been launched.
