Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man, believed to be in his 70s, they say exposed himself in a window last week.

Target Reopens Weeks After $1.5M Arson Fire

“We’re excited to be back open and serving your community,” a spokesperson told Patch. Meanwhile, an out-of-state man remained in jail in connection with the arson, with police saying he lit the fire near the diaper aisle, causing a loss of more than $1 million in merchandise. Employees attempted to put out the fire before fire responders arrived.

Ex-Political Aide Sent Explicit Texts To State Rep, Candidate: State Police

In May, he was also charged with crimes in connection with allegations he sent fake sexually explicit images of a state senator, the governor and other elected officials. The new charges allege he sent similar falsified graphic images to a state representative and a woman who ran for village clerk. The state rep believes he was targeted because of his opposition to a proposed casino and racetrack.

Cop Fired After Woman Was Handcuffed Naked In Botched Raid Loses Lawsuit

A court confirmed the justification of the termination of a police sergeant involved in a botched 2019 raid that left a social worker handcuffed and naked in her home. He is now an officer with a suburban police department.

Trio Accused Of Kidnapping, Robbing, Beating Man After Setting Up Fake Car Test Drive

According to police, the man came to a gas station under the impression one of the suspects wanted to test drive his Infinity Q45 and possibly buy it. Officials allege the three men stole his computer and phone, along with a briefcase that held 40 car titles, and when the victim tried to get them back, they drove away with him inside the vehicle, beating and threatening to kill him before forcing him to have his family send him money via Zelle. After police pulled the vehicle over, the victim was found “bite marks on his arms and stomach and numerous swelled contusions to his head and body.”

Illinois high school football playoffs expanding in 2026


BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (KWQC) – The IHSA football playoffs will be expanding by 50 percent in 2026.

IHSA member schools approved an amendment to expand the playoffs from 32 teams per class to 48.

There will still be 8 classifications increasing the total number of playoff teams from 256 to 384.

As a result of the change, the start of the season will be moved up by a week in August to allow the season to still finish with State Championship games the week of Thanksgiving.

Woman found dead near Schamburg, Illinois shopping center, man in custody



A woman was found dead near a shopping center in Schaumburg, Illinois early Tuesday, and a man was taken into police custody.

Around 5:25 a.m., Schaumburg police were called to the 100 block of South Roselle Road. They found a woman dead at the scene.

Police said a man was taken into custody at the scene.

The investigation so far indicates that the incident was domestic, and the man and woman knew each other.

Police said the incident was isolated and there was no threat to the public. But there was a large police presence at the scene, and alternate routes were advised.
