Barge crew rescues 3 from Illinois River waters
A barge crew assisted three individuals out of the Illinois River on Saturday afternoon after a pair of kayaks capsized between Ottawa and Utica.
Two of the people left Kayak Starved Rock on Dee Bennett Highway and ventured in a double kayak into the principle channel of the Illinois River, stated Conservation Police Sgt. Phil Wire of the Illinois Division of Pure Sources. The opposite particular person ended up within the 50 diploma water on the 43 diploma day making an attempt to rescue the duo, all at about 4 p.m. Saturday.
Wire stated a barge making its means alongside the Illinois River noticed the people and despatched a small boat to them for the rescue.
