Semi truck driver from Georgia accused of driving drunk, opening fire on vehicle after crash in Detroit

DETROIT – A 37-year-old semi truck driver from Georgia has been arrested after opening fireplace on one other car after a crash in Detroit, in line with Michigan State Police.

Police acquired calls a few crash involving a presumably drunk semi truck driver and a weapon at 11:58 p.m. on Sunday, April 30, 2023, within the space of Martin Luther King Boulevard and I-96.

Police mentioned the preliminary investigation signifies that there was a crash between the semi truck and one other car on Wayburn Road in Detroit. The driving force within the different car adopted the semi truck for a number of miles.

Police mentioned the semi truck driver fired a number of pictures on the different car on eastbound I-96. The semi truck finally turned disabled and stopped. The semi truck driver fled the scene, however later returned. Police mentioned he was arrested on scene.

After he was arrested, a K9 unit helped police search the realm and a pistol was recovered a brief distance away from the scene.

I-96 was closed down at I-94 for a shell casing search, however has since reopened. The investigation is ongoing.
