Rain showers continue for Metro Detroit through the end of the week — Here's what to expect

THURSDAY: Cloudy skies, scattered rain showers. High: 46. Winds: North 3-6 MPH.

After scattered rain showers throughout our Tuesday, we are going to keep the rain showers into the forecast for part of our Wednesday with another day of mild temperatures continuing.

The rain showers the past few days, all wrapping around a strong area of low pressure out over the Midwestern United States, that will be slow to move off to the east over the next couple of days. Wednesday will not be a complete washout, we will keep the rain showers into the forecast for the first part of the day, otherwise, mostly cloudy skies can be expected. Temperature is not moving a whole lot throughout the day, high temperatures into the upper 40s Wednesday afternoon.

Rain showers continuous we had into our Thursday, they will be on and off throughout the entire day. High temperatures heading for the middle 40s by Thursday afternoon.

That low pressure system finally moves off to the east by the end of the week, so we will keep a chance of rain showers end of the forecast once again. And as colder air filters in behind that front boundary, we may see a brief change over to a wintry mix of rain and snow showers, and/or some snow showers. High temperatures heading for the low to mid 40s by Friday afternoon.

Sunshine returns to the forecast as we start the holiday weekend. Partly cloudy skies can be expected. High temperature is heading for the upper 30s to lower 40s by Saturday afternoon.

As we look ahead into the end of the weekend and New Year’s Eve, cloud will increase, and we will bring a chance of rain and snow showers back to the forecast. High temperatures heading for the upper 30s by Sunday afternoon.

We start 2024 with some much-needed sunshine and January like temperatures. Partly cloudy skies can be expected with high temperatures into the upper 30s, and that Sunshine continues into next Tuesday as well. Mostly sunny skies can be expected with highs remaining into the upper 30s.
