Minnesota man drives to Michigan after making threats to blow up Detroit-area mosques, gets arrested

A Minnesota man is being detained after driving to Michigan making statements about eager to “blow up” mosques close to and across the Detroit space, in keeping with a metropolis of Dearborn spokesperson.

The 60-year-old from Minneapolis is being held within the Van Buren County Jail awaiting prices after reportedly ramming 11 automobiles Tuesday in Paw Paw, on the west aspect of the state. In line with victims, the suspect is believed to have deliberately rammed into “automobiles pushed by individuals of coloration.”

The person allegedly continued to make disparaging remarks about ladies and minorities throughout encounters with police. Police didn’t establish any weapons or explosives within the car. As a result of the threats made concerned homes of worship, the FBI shall be investigating.

In line with a metropolis of Dearborn spokesperson, officers had been stationed in any respect mosques within the metropolis as a precaution. Investigators say it’s believed the suspect was to have been performing alone.
