DETROIT (AP) — A person who killed a Detroit police officer and one other man over 4 days was sentenced Wednesday to 46-60 years in jail.

JuJuan Parks, 32, pleaded responsible to 2 counts of second-degree homicide in reference to the unrelated 2019 deaths of Officer Rasheen McClain and Nathaniel Loyd. Fees in reference to the dying of a second man had been dismissed below a plea settlement.

Wayne County Assistant Prosecutor Matthew Penney learn a letter written by McClain’s widow, Heidi McClain, who was current throughout the sentencing however didn’t converse. She stated Parks had given her a “lifetime sentence of ache and grief.”
