CARLOS MONARREZ: Lions’ NFL draft haul puts the pressure on Aaron Glenn: Don’t hold this team back
- Jared Goff new black jersey: The Lions last wore a black uniform in 2007 but continued to use black in the color scheme through 2016 before ditching the color until this offseason. The black jersey has Honolulu blue numbers with silver outlines, “LIONS” written in blue across the chest, “MOTOR CITY” on the collar with blue and silver stripes on the sleeve.
- Barry Sanders black jersey: Current players aren’t the only ones with new threads available to purchase. Barry Sanders jerseys are available in all colors, including black.
- Amon-Ra St. Brown blue jersey: The new blue jerseys has a refreshed version of Honolulu blue with white lettering and silver outlines. The jerseys have silver and white stripes on the sleeve and say “ONE PRIDE” on the inside collar as a nod to the fans and the passionate environment inside Ford Field.
- Terrion Arnold blue jersey: The newest members of the Lions have their jerseys available to purchase online, including first-round pick Terrion Arnold. He was the first of six players drafted by the Lions in the 2024 NFL draft. The Lions were selling new jerseys at a shop at the draft in downtown Detroit, but did not have the option to get the jersey of who the Lions selected that weekend.
- Aidan Hutchinson white jersey: The new white jersey has blue lettering outlined in silver with “DETROIT” spelled out across the chest in small blue lettering. “313” is written on the inside collar to honor where the team comes from when on the road.

How to get free tickets to Michigan Central’s reopening concert today
(CBS DETROIT) — Registration for free tickets to the Michigan Central Station reopening concert and tours opens Tuesday.
The station was purchased by Ford Motor Company in 2018 and is scheduled to reopen on June 6 after being closed for the last 36 years. The general public is invited to attend the reopening celebrations.
The celebrations kick off with “Live from Detroit: The Concert at Michigan Central,” a 90-minute, standing-room-only concert outside in front of the station. The lineup hasn’t been announced yet, but according to a release, it will feature “some of Detroit’s biggest stars.” The concert is produced by Jesse Collins Entertainment, an Emmy-winning production company that has produced many Super Bowl Halftime Shows.
“There’s no place like Detroit, and we couldn’t be more excited to showcase the city through its own incredible artists,” said Collins. “We’re going to create an unforgettable welcome party for Michigan Central with this new chapter in Detroit history that celebrates the visions of these unique performers who are bound together by a shared love of their city.”
The event will also feature short films and appearances from local leaders and creators from around Detroit and Southeast Michigan to discuss innovation stories.
Entry will open at 6 p.m., and the concert will begin at 8:30 p.m.
Registration for free tickets will begin at noon on Tuesday on Michigan Central’s website.
In addition to the concert, 10 days of free tours will be offered. The tours will give people a look at the station’s restored ground floor, along with exhibits, entertainment and art. The tours begin on June 7 and go through June 16.

Detroit Tigers’ Reese Olson gets hit by comebacker, exits game with right hip contusion
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Detroit Tigers right-hander Reese Olson exited Monday’s series opener against the Kansas City Royals in the bottom of the third inning with a right hip contusion.
A comebacker hit Olson on his right hip.
The 24-year-old looked like he wanted to stay in the game after throwing a couple of warmup pitches, but following a conversation with head athletic trainer Ryne Eubanks and manager A.J. Hinch, he ultimately left game after 52 pitches.
ACE VS. ACE: Tarik Skubal, Cole Ragans have ‘nothing but respect’ for each other ahead of first matchup
Olson threw a first-pitch 94.4 mph fastball to Michael Massey with two runners on base and two outs in the third inning. The ball — hit with a 101.8 mph exit velocity — drilled Olson in his right hip.
He immediately grabbed his right hip, limping.
Catcher Jake Rogers emerged from behind the plate to field the ball in front of the mound. He tried to make a play by flipping the ball to third base, but there wasn’t a defender covering the bag, so the ball bounced into foul territory and into the outfield. The lead runner scored on the mistake from Rogers, charged with a throwing error.

After that, Eubanks and Hinch came out of the dugout to meet with Olson. The Tigers replaced Olson with right-handed reliever Beau Brieske.
Olson is scheduled to make his next start Saturday against the Toronto Blue Jays at Comerica Park.
THE KID CAN PLAY: Tigers’ Wenceel Pérez is proving it’s possible for rookies to hit in big leagues
The comeback that knocked Olson out of the game occurred one inning after he gave up a home run for the first time in 54 innings. He allowed two runs (one earned run) on five hits and one walk with two strikeouts across 2⅔ innings, with the both homer and comebacker hit by Massey.
Olson has a 2.16 ERA with 16 walks and 43 strikeouts across 50 innings in nine starts in the 2024 season.
