What’s up with Ohio State’s J.T. Tuimoloau, Mike Hall Jr. and TreVeyon Henderson? Cotton Bowl practice notes

ARLINGTON, Texas — With one notable exception, Ohio State football’s roster was on the field and in pads for Tuesday’s pre-Cotton Bowl practice at AT&T Stadium.

Marvin Harrison Jr. rode a stationary bike in sweats during the first two periods of the practice in preparation for Friday’s game against Missouri. Reporters were allowed to watch approximately 25 minutes of drills and stretching.

All of the other OSU players whose status for the game remains unclear where in pads and practicing:

• Defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau and defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. were both in full pads and going through defensive line drills. Neither has indicated whether he will play Friday or if he plans to return for 2024.

• Tight end Cade Stover was in full pads and catching passes on routes with the rest of the tight end group. Similarly, Tommy Eichenberg went through linebacker drills. Both dealt with late-season injuries, which could be a factor in whether both NFL draft-entering players will suit up on Friday.

• Running back TreVeyon Henderson led the running back group in full pads. Ohio State released a photo earlier this week of the starter doing the same. Dallan Hayden and walk-on TC Caffey were the other running backs in that group.

Xavier Johnson worked out with the receivers, as usual, but would be another backfield option if needed.

• Other seniors who have not formally announced their plans, such as linebacker Steele Chambers and guard Matt Jones, were also in full pads.

• The viewing window included a look at quarterbacks Devin Brown and Lincoln Kienholz in passing drills. Brown continued to wear a wrap on the right ankle injury that kept him off the field late in the season.
