Ohio Turnpike reopens Rocky River Bridge after ‘emergency’ repairs

UPDATE: The Ohio Turnpike said around 3:25 p.m. that all lanes have reopened, and the repair is complete. Original story below.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The Ohio Turnpike issued a traffic alert Friday for the Rocky River Bridge due to “emergency bridge deck repairs.”

The turnpike said westbound right and center lanes will be closed while the center lane is repaired.

According to the alert, the closure is expected to last until 4 p.m. Friday.

The turnpike said delays are expected. The westbound detour suggested by the turnpike is:

  1. Consider exiting at Toll Plaza 161 (Strongsville)
  2. Take I-71 north to I-480 westbound
  3. Re-enter the Ohio Turnpike at Toll Plaza 151 (North Ridgeville) or Toll Plaza 152 (North Olmsted)
